An important objective of the Union for the Dutch Language’s foreign policy is to promote cooperation between institutes of higher education at which Dutch is taught.
Establishing an academic network at a regional, national or international level helps to meet this need.
Besides acting as a channel of communication, an academic network is the contact point for the Union for the Dutch Language for different kinds of activities by departments of Dutch abroad.
In order to facilitate an academic network, the Union for the Dutch Language may supply a working grant. This grant is intended to cover meeting costs, transport expenses, personnel costs and information-distribution expenses.
An academic network can apply for a working grant every year.
Applications must be submitted before 1 December, prior to the next budget year. Application forms have to be completed in Dutch. Forms in other languages will not be accepted.
